Quiet week

We should ALL be so lucky:)

I don't have a ton to say today:)  It's been a good week.  Began cold, and ended with a gloriously spectacular day today; I think I have my first sun burn of the season! (despite applying sunscreen)

Only 2 more weeks until we jet off to the west coast!  I can't wait, I feel so dang GOOD when I'm over on that side of the US.  God truly blessed that side of our country with an amazing, rugged, and breathtaking kind of beauty.  The kind we have here on the East Coast is more of a gentle, soul soothing type of landscape.  The west is just awe inspiring, take your breath away.  I'm ready for some of that!

This week has been a small bust, Insanity wise.  Mon/Tues I could NOT blast myself out of bed before 6 am, so I neglected my workouts.  Wed, I ran for a couple of miles; there was a pretty gnarly hill I managed to climb!  Thursday, I did my recovery workout.  Fri, I again couldn't dynamite myself out of bed, and was unable to fit my workout in during the day because I spent the whole dang day at the barn, then promptly met with the inlaws for dinner.  This morning, I woke up to do my workout, but my left ankle (the one I hurt back in May of last year) was literally throbbing.  I landed pretty hard off a jump on Thursday and very nearly fell off, and I think I may have over extended it a little.  I opted to rest it today and tomorrow is the scheduled rest day, then next week is "recovery week".

Don't think "recovery week" is easy.  That's a misleading title.  Recovery week is HARD.  But like Shaun T says, "It's a simple, but EFFECTIVE workout".  It's still 40 minutes long, and I sweat and breathe hard at the end, but it's a little bit lower impact than all the other regular workouts.  Since I feel fully adjusted to the time change now, I WILL get up early and get the workouts done early before I even start my day.  I don't feel too bad though; Thursday was bedding day at the barn, and I manhandled 31 of the 40 lb bags.  Today, I walked on foot during a horse trail ride through THICK and tall grass, PLUS I rode a horse, and washed my car.  Had a full, productive day!

Next week will be fitting in some fun, girly things.  I had to get rid of ALL my capris because they were falling off me, literally.  So, I have nothing to wear to California over SB.  I still have a few gift cards to Kohl's and Old Navy from Christmas that I will use to do some clothes shopping.  I need a hair cut and an "It's sandal season" pedi.  I bought some sparkly nail polish, and will give myself a mani.  It's nice to pamper yourself every once in awhile:)  Hope you all have a great week!!  Stay motivated:D

  1. We all have our off days to help us appreciate the days where we feel we have achieved what we set ourselves to do. If we were all great all the time we'd have no comparison and nothing to strive for ;-)
